- Expression of Interest are invited for Life Cycle Analysis on The Production Chain of SAF and Renewable Diesel from Oil Palm and Crop Residues. The World Bank / BioCarbon Fund Initiative for Sustainable Forest Landscapes Program is supporting low-emissions land use and sustainable agricultural development in the Orinoquía Region of Colombia. Within this framework, the World Bank is supporting analytical work that aims to support the generation, validation, and sharing of knowledge about effective approaches for promoting the emergence of climate-smart agricultural supply chains, with a particular focus on four value chains: cattle, oil palm, cocoa, and non-timber forest products. The World Bank is seeking a firm or consortium to prepare a life cycle analysis (LCA) of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) and Renewable Diesel and their equivalent fossil fuel production chains in Colombia. This analysis will provide tools to facilitate the insertion of Colombias SAF and RD to the national and international markets and expected to become a guiding instrument to understand the environmental, economic, social, and political implications of oil palm development and biofuels production. The results of the consultancy will be used by the WB on the development and promotion of green market opportunities in the Orinoquía region and in Colombia. This consultancy will complement other WB consultancies that are being carried out in parallel related to opportunities and challenges for SAF and RD in Colombia, as well as aspatial planning analysis in the region.
