Expression of Interest are invited for Analysis of Digital Technology Solutions (DTS) for Promoting Climate-Smart Agriculture in the Orinoquia Region. The World Bank is seeking a consultant to identify and assess digital technology solutions (DTS) that could be mobilized to accelerate the emergence of low carbon agriculture value chains in the Orinoquía region of Colombia, with a particular focus on cattle, cocoa, and oil palm. We are interested in three categories of DTS suitable for use at farm level: (1) DTS that can help reduce the carbon footprint of a farm; (2) DTS that can assess the changes in the carbon footprint resulting from the adoption of low carbon practices; and (3) DTS that can facilitate access to finance linked to the use of climate-smart practices. The consultant will be asked to take stock of market-ready DTS currently available in Colombia that can be used for the three above-mentioned purposes; evaluate the DTS according to a set of criteria to be decided by the firm (e.g., usefulness, technical accuracy, ease of use, cost); identify a set of DTS judged to have the greatest potential to generate value for producers; discuss what it would take to promote large-scale adoption of the most promising DTS; and assess their potential of the most promising DTS to allow producers in Colombia to access green finance markets.
